>Field1 -text
why do you then need the field to be text instead of numerical data type?

you could run this one as many times as you get rows affected > 0
update tbl_import
   set Field1 = mid(Field1 , 2, 100)
where field1 like '0%'

Or - as the values seem numeric only:

Update tbl_import
Set Field1 = Val([Field1])
