I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Error is clearly saying model.MDF file is missing from D:\ drive or SQL server can not read the file from this drive. Please check the file exists or not at the specified path. SQL server can not be start in normal mode because in absence of Model database , TempDB can not be created.

Model.mdf and model.ldf file should be there

We’d all like to think our company’s data is well protected, but when you ask IT professionals they admit the data probably is not as safe as it could be.

Deepak ChauhanSQL Server DBACommented:
Seems not a space issue, now check files model.mdf. and .ldf files should not be readonly.
SQL server service account has permission to read the files from this drive.

Are you able to connect to SQL server using SSMS?

Is D:\ drive or folder where file exists is compressed ? or is it write protected.

check sql server services account it should be running LocalSystem or domain account.
