Cisco 876 ADSL Router Connecting to vDSL Line.

Hello Experts,

I'm currently trying to connect our Cisco 876 ADSL router to provider vDSL connection, but our ATM interface shows down/down.

The provider is suggesting the issue is with our router, however I believe that even if there is an issue with our router the interface should at least state up / down.

Can someone let me know if I'm correct?

Silly question, but do you have a Cisco 876 or a Cisco 876VAE? The latter will be required to support vDSL, the 876 only supports up to ADSL2+ IIRC

Hi Elvorfin,

I have Cisco 876

Are you certain I will need 876VAE?

Sadly Carlton I think that is the case if you look at the specs for the two

It seems that the 867 is ADSL2+ only but you need 867VAE does vSDL

Thanks for that.

However, shouldn't the circuit at least show up? Even if it can't transmit traffic?
