2013 Exchange domain name?

Configuring a new install of exchange 2013(sp1) on server 2012

functional level of domain is 2008r2

installed exchange, an i can connect into the admin page to configure aswell as play around with Powershell.

now, exchange is trying to use our domain name "hrt.ds" for email addresses, so adding the user John Smith becomes "johnsmith@htd.ds" but these should be johnsmith@hottempdoors.com instead - if that makes sense?

is this configurable!?

i havent found the configuration anywhere

thanks

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You have to configure/edit Email address policy to assign your domain.com else it will take your internal domain name as email address
