error in joining a computer to a domain

When Im trying to add a computer to a domain its Showing the following error how to resolve this
in this case the Dns is on the server Im trying to Join the Domain.Please give me detailed Steps for resoving the following error.

the followin error occured attempting to join the domain dascase  An attempt to resolve the DNS name of a domain controller in the domian being joined has failed.Please verify the client is configured to reach a DNS Server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain.

1.  Write IP address of your domain controller
2. Open your network adapter properties
3. Select IP v4
4. Click properties
5. Select use the following DNS server address
6. type in IP address of your domain controller
7. Click ok
8. Close
9. Then try to add to domain again

Type Ping dascase in command prompt

And it should reply with the IP address of the dc

Actualy the DNS is on a separate server other than the domain controller.The problem Im facing is i cannot join this Dns server  to my domain DASCASE

your AD domain should have its own domain controller. It is part of the Domain Controller Setup.

then set the ip address of the server that hold the fsmo roled (with a properly working dns you shouldn't have this problem)
