SQL Express problem

I've got a new installation of SQL Express 2012. When I try to create a new database I get the error message:

Index was outside of the bounds of the array. We get the message when we try to restore a database also.I'm using windows authentication. I've gone in as sa an given the user all possible rights.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Right click on ssms and run as administrator.

I'm using SQL 2005 Server Management Studio to access the Express server. How would we go about doing that?

In this case you can not do, you have to install SSMS 2012 client tool.
