We use a pop server hosted email for our email.  Everyone is on outlook.  Yesterday many users had the dialog box come up for them to enter their password.  They would click ok about 10 times when it popped up and it would work.  This would be fine for about 3 hours and then the same thing happened.  I talked to our email host provider and they said it was a micrsoft update. Any ideas on if this is true and any options on what I can do to remedy this?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you have only some users with this issue, try to find what they have in common. I'd bet that the issue is on provider side. Check, for example, if the users with the issue are trying to check mail from more than one device. If the answer is yes, is a problem with the pop server. I have no other ideas for similitudes checks, but I am repeating: most probably the issue is on the provider side.

Best regards!

They have no answers for me so I guess I'm on my own.
They cannot let you down! You have no access to their toys, so they must help you! try to find some similitudes on the users with this issue (if there are only some of them).

If all users have this problems it could be an issue on your side and I am thinking of a virus, some security changing settings (some new rules on firewall, proxy, etc), Internet problems (DoS attacks maybe)

Cannot let you down?  You must be joking.  A company providing services to another company and they don't fix things?  Never!
