I have Micrsoft Account but forgot local computer account - password recovery
I have windows 8.1 installed on my laptop (ASUS Q550L) . I use Microsoft account to login into my laptop. For maintenance reason I had to disconnect from my live login and create a local login name. (Click Disconnect under your username and create a local login name)
After I rebooted by laptop I forgot the local login password. As a result, I am not able to do anything on my laptop. Is there any way to switch from the local login back to the microsoft account ? I do not have any password recovery USB stick.

Did you use Disk Encryption for that user or for the entire system?
If no Encryption is used you may use pogostick (http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/) to reset the account password for the local user.
BUT you will lose ALL encrypted files of that user. When the disk uses whole disk encryption pogostick will not work.

If Pogostick (pretty good) does not help, you may be out of luck. You may have to recover the disk contents (documents) in some way and reinstall Windows
