"Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later. Exchange 2007/Outlook 2010".

Hello,

We are running Exchange 2007 with an Outlook 2010 client.

Users, so far all of them are unable to setup an OOF message from the Outlook client.  Any attempt to do so results in the following message:

"Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable.  Try again later.  Exchange 2007/Outlook 2010".

The same users however are able to create the OOF message using OWA.

Any advice would be welcome.  Thanks in advance.

Regards,

What are your URL's set to for Autodiscover and EWS (Exchange Web Services)? Out Of Office requires both of these virtual directories for Out Of Office to work properly.

Open Outlook and then right click the outlook icon in the right tray (holding ctrl+right) select Test Email Auto Configuration and run the Autodiscover test. Then you will see what URL's your client is using for Autodiscover and EWS.

If they are not using the correct autodiscover and EWS directories this would be exactly why Out Of Office is not working.

It works via OWA because OWA is not dependant on EWS or Autodiscover. It has its own virtual directory which connects directly to Exchange.

Outlook is dependant on multiple virtual directories for all features in Outlook to work properly.
