Alternatives to TestComplete Desktop Edition

Heyas,

Can anyone give me any other alternatives to the TestComplete Desktop Edition, except for course for Autoit which is awesome.

Thank you.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Does it just have to test Windows applications?  Can it test only web-based applications?  Are you testing applications on iOS or on Android?

Have you tried any of these?

1)  Sikuli
2)  Selenium (good for technical testing of web-based applications, but may not help with client-server applications on the desktop)
3)  PushToTest's TestMaker
4)  eggPlant Functional
5)  Rational Functional Tester
6)  Unified Functional Testing
7)  SilkTest
