Great Plains 2013 AP payment terms

Are payment terms tied to the vendor card for just that vendor or do all payment terms show up for each vendor. Do "classes" play a role in setting up the payments terms.. Thanks!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Payment terms are set up at the company level and are used by both Purchasing and Sales modules. All payment terms that are set up will show up for payables and receivables transactions.

When setting up a vendor (or customer) you can select default payment terms (all payments terms in the company will be available to pick from), that will default to all transactions entered for that vendor (or customer). No matter what defaults, you can always manually change the payment terms at the transaction level.

When setting up a vendor (or customer) class you can select default payment terms (all payments terms in the company will be available), that will default to all new vendors (or customers) created with that class. You can also change the payment terms for a class and roll that change down to all the vendors or customers in the class. Again, no matter what defaults from a class, you can always manually change the payment terms for a vendor (or customer).

Hope that helps to answer your questions.
