Changing an surname in a Hybrid Environment

In our corporate network we have a windows server R2 running AD 2008 and just recently our entire mailbox moved to O365,

The question is user got married and I need to change her surname and email address to reflect the new married name.
Could you please assist me with steps on how to achieve that without breaking her mailbox?
What we need to change
Do we have to change her log on name too and alias? If yes , how about when they try to log in to windows with new userID name.
Do we still to back up their old profile and restore to the new log on ID ?
Thanks in advance
