How do I recover a Back up using Paragon Hard Disk Manager 14 Business

Hello Experts,

I made a backup of a  folder and send via FTP to remote computer. Paragon compresses the backup into a arc_... folder that Im unable to read and unusable.

To restore the folder into a usable original file to I have to install the Paragon Hard Disk manager in remote computer and run?

Could you please explain,

Thank you

Yes, 3rd party backup applications like Paragon work well, but many times you can only restore from a backup using the original application. You can create a recovery (bootable) CD, boot from it and then point to the remote Pc to access the back file, but I suggest copying that file to your local Pc, then copying it to an external hard drive and try recovering that file after plugging the drive into the Pc/server you are trying to restore.

Hope this helps!

I have a server in location A and another server in location B. I need server B to be a copy of server A and synced daily. In case server location A fails I have a backup ready to work a location B. Could you please let me know which software is best to run this.

Thank you

Create a bootible Paragon Recover CD and start the recovery process from that.

If you want to have a copy of your system for fast recovery then you are using wrong approach. Instead of doing backup to remote machine connect a second drive to your server and perform with Hard Disk Manager daily hard drive copies.
Once the first server dies or gets out of work you can easily connect this second drive to server B and let it run.

For security I need to have the backup in a separate location, cant connect second driver. Would this work with daily backups via ftp to remote second drive? Would the hard disk manager be set for differential backup?

Thank you

Yes, you can have a backup in an of-site location. simply run a backup to a local external drive, then copy it off-site or have your backup application run both operations for you. Most mature backup applications have that feature built in.

You can do only full backups to ftp location becuae the art of this storage - ftp does not allow you hold the archive on ftp as local storage for differential or incremental backups.
Thus use full backups done to FTP or to a network storage connected via vpn.

Since full backups on ftp takes a lot of time in case of disconnection does the upload start again automatically or from the start or once reconnected to server it picks up where it left. I just upgraded to the Paragon Hard disk manager 15 Business.

The HDM15 will not pickup the upload automatically. You need to do the backups to local drive and use different tool to upload them to FTP via scheduled script for example. If the FTP interface supports picking up interrupted upload then you can let it do this.
But HDM will brake up and say - destination is not found.
