"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Is this an Exchange 2010 distribution list, or is it an AD security group that is mail-enabled?  And what version (build number) of Exchange are you using?

Open dsa.msc or AD snap-in. Search this DL, goto security tab>Advance and select inheritable permission check box and apply. Wait for AD replication and then remove the DL.

thanks for the responses. I was able to remove after adding Exchange Trusted Subsystem permissions to the DL Object.

Yes, this was an Exchange DL.
and prior to this posting I tried unchecking, and checking Inheritable permissions.

thanks again.
