I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Best to have full backup before any maintenance activity. Then you can shut them down normally.

There is no maintenance being done on the Exchange Servers specifically so you can just power down the servers.

No Maintenance on the servers, I have 6 of them, 4 Active DBs and 4 passive DBs on each one of them.

Just shut down the servers one at a time (does not matter the order) and you should be fine.
