vCenter 5.1 Host Profiles

The admin before started to use host profiles but never keep them updated and all settings are no current any more. How can I safely remove a host profile from a cluster without impacting a production enviroment

yes.  You can also create a host profile from one of the current hosts in case it crashes and you need to rebuild it with the same settings.  You don't need to apply it but it's good to keep it there.

When I go to host profiles, I see the option to delete a profile, will this remove the whole profile of just from the assignment host / cluster
