Exchange 2010 SP3 copy or move a folder from .pst file into exchange mailbox fails with Cannot move the items. cannot move or copy folders cannot move folder a top-level folder cannot be moved to one of its subfolders or you may not have appropriate permissions for the folder. to check your permissions for the folder right-click the folder and then click properties on the shortcut menu

You connect the mailbox via outlook and then import the PST file into desired folder. Or try copy/paste.

You can also use powershell to accomplish this using the Import-Mailbox cmdlet as well.

I have it solved..   I tried several of the above but the issue was masked as being a permission issue.

Background.   the PST file I was using was created using OLM to PST converter.   I did the original conversion from OLM to PST on the MAC and that is what I was trying to import.

THe tech reconverted it but using the PC software instead and that imported fine!  SOLVED!
