Migrating user to roaming profiles

User are currently part of a windows sbs 2012 AD and are all on windows pro.
In the profile they currently have the home director set along with login scripts.

If I add a profile path they end up with a file in the \\server\home$\%username% with an ending of v2 for the director since they have a folder for their home.

How do I migrate their desktop profiles and home directories to have them be roving profiles with their folders be redirected to the server ?

Let's clear a few things up.

Roaming profiles are not home directories, and home directories are not roaming profiles.  They are two different features that provide different functionality, and should not reside in the same directory.

Second, the .v2 will *always* show up for roaming profiles, even if another folder with the same name didn't exist.  Old versions of Windows up to XP used a different format for roaming profiles.  When Vista launched, Microsoft knew that XP would be around for awhile, so when they updated the roaming profile format, they tacked on a .v2.  That way XP clients wouldn't accidentally try to load a Vista (and later Win7) profile and crash.  So the .v2 is *always* added. It is just how Vista/7/8 (and perhaps 10) handles creating roaming profile folders.

You don't migrate home directories into roaming profiles. As I said above, they are different features for different purposes.

ok so then please explain the difference other than a home directory is where documents, photos and videos get stored.
Roaming profile stores the users entire profile on the target as stated in the person profile setting in active directory.

What I had a question about was the redirection of the users my documents folder when using redirect.
