"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You add the role, configure the products and classifications. As well as auto-pro all. Then you would use GPMC to setup GPO to configure the clients for wsus access.
Make sure if you use the virtual port 8350 or 8530, to use the advanced firewall settings to allow access.

Depending on your environment.
You would have one GPO that will be setting the intranet site pointing to the WSUS server.
The next GPO will be on a per OU basis to set the schedule, as well as whether the updates will be auto installed or just downloaded.
I.e. Servers should, not be auto-installed.
Workstation should.
