Microsoft Azure Confusion

We have a number of Windows and Mac laptops that currently login locally and then access resources via Office365. Does Azure AD allow you to change this so that these devices can actually authenticate to an Azure AD DC and then benefit from regular password changes and the ability to suspend accounts etc?
We don't have any AD infrastructure of our own so this would suit us requirements but I cannot find any documentation that definitely answers this question.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, no this is not how it works on Azure, the AD on Azure is not like the AD you have locally, it's kind of a toned down version of Microsoft AD, it's just used to provide directory services to other services in your Azure environment as in Office365 for example.

In short, there's no way to create and manage users in the Azure AD, it's just able to synch with your on-premises AD.
