Windows 8.1 Alarm App - New Alarm Sounds

I'll start this off with:  I'm veteran Windows, but newbie Windows 8.*      = )

I see that an alarm app comes pre-installed, and it is loaded with default sounds. Is there a way to add new sounds? Is it simply a directory I can add to?

I tried searching the web, but most results come back with new app suggestions. I know how to find new apps!

Many of the pre-loaded tones are rather quiet, and I will sleep right through them!

The directory is C:\Windows\Media
The predefined Alarmsound Alarm01.wav (...02.wav...03.wav...10.wav) can be exchanged manually through explorer. As it is a protected directory, even admins will first have to take ownership of that folder and modify access rights afterwards.

OK. So just to confirm, these files are it--one cannot add new sounds, but rather can only replace the existing ones, correct?

OK. Sounds good. I seem to recall something similar with earlier editions of Windows. No biggie. I can browse the store for alternatives!

Thanks!
