I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

A good place to start would be SQL expert ValeninoV's article Displaying Checkboxes In An SSRS Report.

I meant that i need information on multi select parameters using stored procedures.  I am clear on how to do it if the query is text in the report itself.  I am not sure how to set up the stored procedure or the SSRS report if it is a multi select parameter with a stored procedure

Basically you write a simple stored procedure that selects all the values for a single parameter you wish to display. If you want to use more than 1 parameter, create stored procedures for each.
Add each of the procedures as datasets to your report. After that, when you configure your parameters, you indicate that the source is a dataset, and you select the respective dataset you created for that parameter.
Keep in mind that if you are using multi-select parameter, and are calling a stored procedure, you need to create some sort of split function that splits the values fed to the stored procedure into individual parts, which are then used in an IN clause. I explained how to do this some time ago in this question here:

Hope this answers your question.
