Netlogon Share missing
Hi guys,
One of my clients has an old SBS 2008 server, and i was doing a health check on it, and noticed the NETLOGON share is missing. The SYSVOL is there. What can i do to fix it?

This is a single DC environment
The Link will posted is one remedy for such an issue meaning you have a journal corruption event.
When was the last time the system was booted (net statistics server)
Something else might be preventing the creation of netlogon share.

System was rebooted a week ago, who knows how long it has been this way. How would a restore work when there is only one server?
You can run the d4 fix from the link Will provided.
Double check though that the issue is of the type covered by the issue. There should be an error indicating what is preventing the netlogon share.
A single server is the authoritative server so there is no concern that it might synchronize data from .....

Arnold,
If i run that fix, does it rebuild NETLOGON/SYSVOL?

There is nothing that needs to be done on the sysvol/netlogon as they are both file stored in c:\windows\sysvol\sysvol (sysvol)
c:\windows\sysvol\sysvol\a ddomainnam e\scripts (netlogon)
Are there any entries in the event log errors that indicate something is preventing netlogon sharing?
check
In either do you have any notice that preexisting/prestaging etc (DO NOT DELETE).
The D4 fix if the other DC is up and running/ its c:\windows\sysvol\ contents will be seen/treated as authoritative leading to the relocation of your existing DCs contents. You would need to copy them back out into the respective location.
Make sure when you copy the files out that they show up on the other system in the same location.

server was in journal wrap, so a restore fixed it..
Look at the event log to see if there is an event/error pointing to a reason why netlogon is not being shared.
Is there a secondary DC?
