Migrating SBS2003 to W2012R2 Essentials

I have been following the steps for migration and have gotten to the "3rd" step which calls for "Join computers to the new Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials server"

However the article shows I should remove the SBS connector for W2011.. but that did not exist on SBS2003
Can I skip step 3, or do I need to go to each computer and "join" it to the new server.. The computers did come over with AD, but in the SBS locations

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Finally found the answer here:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj200128.aspx

Browse to http://destination-servername/connect and install the Windows Server Connector software as if this was a new computer. The installation process is the same for domain-joined or non-domain-joined client computers.

So yes they have to be joined, but since there is no connector there is nothing to uninstall 1st.
