Need Help with a Powershell Question:

Greeting Experts,
I have some confusion when it comes to running a PowerShell script on a machine. By default, Set-Execution Policy is set to “Restricted” and I need change it to “Unrestricted”. Is there a way to add a string to powershell.ps1 script that invokes a change to the system by correcting the default setting from “Restricted” to “Unrestricted” in to a script? So that it does it automatically regardless of devices it rain on…..

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

No.  That would defeat the purpose of the restriction.

But you can set the execution policy through group policy.  Another option is lauching PowerShell from the command line and telling it to use a specific policy.
powershell -ExecutionPolicy remotesigned -file somescript.ps1
Run powershell /? to see other switches.

I think is going to be better if I just covert the script over to vb instead of powershell.... Lot let trouble in the long run... thanks

I don't know if I would agree with that.  VB scripts are often a number of times longer than equivalent PS scripts.  But you know the environment better than me, so the decision is yours of course.
