How to set the width of a form input text in CSS

I know this is a newbie question.  I created this style rule input[type="text"] { width: 60px;}
but the width of the text boxes did not change.  Could you please take a look at my code to see what I am doing wrong?

Please be patient with me because I am a newbie.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hello Cookiejar,

Replace below code:

input[type="text"] {
	width: 60px;

Open in new window

#rfieldset input {
	width: 300px;

Open in new window

And you will see changes.

Hope that helped

Best Regards
