Unfortunately,  Google broke chrome during a previous update.

That means it would be only repaired on the next update?
Thomas Zucker-ScharffSolution GuideCommented:
If they do indeed decide that it needs to be repaired.  They have done security updates since the problem began which did not fix the issue.  Your best bet is to run either Opera or FireFox, with the appropriate extensions.  For Opera there is an Agent switcher than spoofs all browsers (most).  For FireFox you can use cocoon, which makes it virtually malware proof (it runs in a sandbox,  among other things).

Chrome sometimes works, but in its' current state, is not ready for prime time.

FWIW--I am running Chrome  version 43.0.2357.124 m , and all seems OK.

Maybe uninstall/reinstall?
Thomas Zucker-ScharffSolution GuideCommented:
I am also running Chrome Version 43.0.2357.124 m.  There are some problems with it.  Some of the items that were broken have been fixed, others have not.  I couldn't tell you which, I just know some thing s still don't work like they used to.  In my personal opinion, the "feature" of having chrome running in your taskbar, is a PITA.  But everything else aside, Opera and Firefox just run better nowadays.  Opera especially is leaner and faster.  Although I still use chrome for some things (I like Chrome Remote Desktop, for instance), I have Opera installed as my default browser.
