citrix xen 7.6 remote access

Hi all can you confirm can we run external connectivity without netscaler i.e. over https for Xendekstop.     I have looked online and not a lot of info (says you can do it on older versions)  attached (sf.jpg) in the storefront GUI the access says internal,  with the only way to “enable remote access” is to select below that wants netscaler.

My connections work from the inside but when I try to launch from outside it hangs and does nothing  I have forwarded the ports as in the diagram also attached,  but it hangs when I try and boot a remote desktop.

Surely I dont have to use netscaler just to have remote access for citrix for 7.6 ?????? thats crazy

Yes you do have to use a Netscaler for outside access, assuming you want encrypted connections.  There isn't really a practical way to grant outside access without one, unless you are going to use a VPN.

You can get a free netscaler vpx (or multiple), but they are limited to 5MB of throughput (each).
