Lenovo X1 Carbon freezing up after Windows update overnight

Hi Experts,
I have a Lenovo X1 carbon, which ran Windows updates overnight, and now seems to be having an issue. Also, the user used to have one of the Lenovo docks attached, but we disconnected it this morning thinking that was the problem, since we have had issues with it in the past. Laptop is still having issue, after starting up, it looks like Windows explorer is freezing or something. Desktop comes up, then everything in systray freezes or icons disappear for about a minute or more. Everything was working fine yesterday, and the only thing it ran was Windows update overnight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

One thing I'm noticing is that it appears this problem only exists when starting up cold. If I do restart it doesn't have issue. Only when I do a shutdown and then power it back up. I'm going to disconnect all monitors and external devices.

Nevermind. Issue was with access connections and the Lenovo one link dock. Have had nothing but issues with these docks.
