Dynamics 10 upgrade to 2010

I am upgrading a Dynamics 10 system running server 03 and sql 05, current GP build 10.0.1368. The new server will be Server 2012 and SQL 2012 running GP 2010 SP4. In order for me to migrate from the older PROD server to the new TEST upgrade server I installed SQL express 08 on the older PROD server, restored my 05 SQL backups to 08 Express and then remapped my ODBC pointing to SQL 08 Express. I then ran GP 10 SP4 (1368) then ran utilities, it ran just as it should have. I then made backups of my SQL 08 Express with 1368 databases and copied to the TEST upgrade server running 2012 where I restored the 08 Express databases to SQL 2012. I then started running utilities and received "could not ascertain version error". I then looked at the duinstall.log here is the output which is strange as I was able to update from 1029 to 1368.

Any experts that can lend me a hand to get the 2012 TEST up and running on GP 2010 SP4?

Hello,

Did you updgrade GP 10 SP4  to GP 2010 with SQL 2008 or you are trying to do on SQL 2012?

Regards!

GP 10.0.1129 is current production on SQL 05, I installed a separate instance of 08 Express on the production server so that I could restore the production backups to it, I then remapped ODBC to reference the 08 Express version and ran the upgrade against the copied databases on the 08 Express so that I could have something portable to move to SQL 12 to restore which I have done. I will then upgrade the GP 10.0.1368 to GP 2010 SP4 using the SQL 2012 server.
I also have noticed that in SQL 12mgmt studio when I go to DB/properties/options the version drop down is blank.

I looked at db_upgrade on PROD (08 express) and TEST 2012

All dbs upgraded and are at proper version of 1368

I would suggest to upgrade GP 10 to 2010 at SQL 2008. I think GP 10 is not supported with SQL 2012.
manelson05Author Commented:
That's exactly what I'm doing.
sfazalCommented:
ok just let me re-phrase your scenario:

1.You upgraded DBs from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008.
2.upgraded application from GP10 to GP2010 on SQL2008
3. Upgraded GP companies from GP10 to 2010 on SQL 2008
4. upgraded DBs from SQL 2008 to SQL 2012
5.  Running GP2010 with SQL 2012 and getting error.

Is this the path you have followed?

Production SQL 05 server with GP 10.0.1029 is still running
Since production must stay up unitl migration is complete and the new TEST server will not support GP10 I installed a second instance of SQL (08 express) on production machine, restored 05 production databases to 08 Express, ran the GP 10 utilities to upgrade to GP10.0.1368 (required to move to GP 2010).
I then copied the files from 08 Express since they are now at version 1368, I then restored these files to the new server running SQL 2012 and GP2010 SP4. When I run the utilities in SP4 I receive the error.

can you run the below command in the new GP database of DYNAMICS  and send the results.

     ,[versionMajor]
     ,[versionMinor]
     ,[versionBuild]
 FROM [DYNAMICS].[dbo].[DU000020]

SELECT * FROM DYNAMICS..SY01500
