Syntax error in ASP code (classic)

I have the following code to display an area if the recordset  is empty and does not or returns a value :

If (Receipts.Fields.Item("Object_id").Value = "" or IsNull(Receipts.Fields.Item("Object_id").Value)) Then

<% End If %>

Works great. What would the syntax be for the opposite, if it doesn't exist ?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

if you want to check if a recordset is empty, use:

If Receipts.BOF and Receipts.EOF then

if you want to check if the recordset is NOT empty, use:

If not Receipts.BOF and not Receipts.EOF then

Its not the recordset I want to check but the value of the "Object_id"  that is not empty or not

simple enough, try this code:

If (Receipts.Fields.Item("Object_id").Value <> "" and not IsNull(Receipts.Fields.Item("Object_id").Value)) Then

this checks to make sure the field Object_id contains a value
