Computer will not go to sleep on schedule

Computer will not go to sleep on schedule.  It is set to go to sleep at a specific time when it is not being used but never goes into sleep mode.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Great tool Michael...I have done it and will see if it does indeed go to sleep.  However I am wondering if there is a solution as to why it does not go to sleep when it is set up to do so.
Thanks,
Mags

here is what MS says about it  :  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976877?wa=wsignin1.0
To fix this problem, try the following methods in the order in which they are presented until you resolve the problem. •Update the drivers to the latest version.
•Check the Power Option settings.
•Prevent device(s) from waking the computer.

The link given by nobus explains MS settings, which I considered that you had preset?...
If these MS settings do not solve the issue then shutdown.exe is the most simple way to solve the issue.

Hope this helps.

Okay...The mystery has been solved.  I had to do a repair install to attempt to resolve other issues.  The repair install resolved the sleep issue but I was unaware of it because I was remotely connected to it.  I confirmed that his computer will not go to sleep when I am remotely connected as it is now going to sleep when requested while I am not remotely connected.

Thanks for the information.

I was unaware that my being remotely connected did not allow the computer to go to sleep.  I hope this helps someone else who may use Citrix GoToAssist.  Gave points for their helpfulness.
