Print Server

Hello all,

My Windows 8 R2 print server worked fine for about 6 months, then all of a sudden users started complaining that they could not print. upon further investigation, I found that if I restarted the print spooler service printing would resume for a short period of time the stop again. Has anyone had this issue and been able to resolve it?

Try to update Windows patches and printer drivers.

I would check the application & system event logs to see if something is causing the spooler to crash.  The next time it happens, I would also check TaskMgr to see if something is hogging system resources. If it's the spooler, then perhaps it's a bad print driver.

Were any print drivers recently updated or installed ?
