Outlook Sent Item folder Exchange 2010

I like to know if this is possible we have 3 users who have access to a shared mailbox added to their own Outlook profile. I need to know if this is possible, when they send an email from  the shared mailbox, the sent email ends up in their "sent items" and not in the shared mailbox "sent items" folder?

is there a way to do this, I know they can open the shared mailbox as profile and that works, but I need to know if the above is possible or not?

What version of Outlook are you using? If it's 2010 or greater you can add the shared mailbox as an actual exchange mailbox alongside the existing one on the user's profile and when an email is sent from that email address it should place the sent mail into the correct sent items folder.

Andy - I added the mailbox in user's own outlook profile and its same result? using outlook 2010

Temody - if I do that then all their own sent emails from their own profile will also end up in their as well?

Just to clarify the shared mailbox is an actual mailbox - sorry for any confusion.

Hmm, that should have worked. If you lok at the Outlook options under Mail > Save Messages what's enabled for:

Save copies of messages in the sent items folder
When replying to a message that is not in the inbox save the reply in the same folder
