Display my Datasheet Filter details

Hi,

I set my filters on a datasheet such that "City = New York" and  "Name = Murphy".

REQUIRED: When I click on a button I want a msgbox to display the details of the filter applied.

E.g. the msgbox might say "Filter applied : City is New York, Name is Murphy"  or similar

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Well, if your filter property reads:

City = New York

without quotes, then it isn't going to work.  It should read:

City = "New York"

You could do something like:

strField = Trim(Split(me.filter, "=")(0))
strValue = Trim(Replace(Split(me.filter, "=")(1), chr$(34), ""))
msgbox strField & " is equal to " & strValue

but what if your filter is more complex than that? or if it uses a > or <, or some other comparison operator?
