Crystal reports - question 3 - from a user with Microsoft Office/vba background

Hi EE,

Watched a few Crystal Reports tutorials on Youtube.

If the datasource is Sql Server, instead of the output being a report, can the output be an xls file.

My users like viewing data excel style.

thx, sandra

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes Crystal Reports can be exported to Excel.  The latest version also supports the .XLSX format.

Most of the viewers and schedulers I referenced in the other question can export to Excel.

Hi mimcc,

I will try to post in the Oracle section to see if there are any user of Cognos or OBIEE on EE to ask similar questions.

Am trying to find a new niche for myself...
