Jaspersoft MSSQL Dynamic ports

During an installation of Jaspersoft  it has been setup with "dynamic ports" into the MS SQL Server 2012 database, however the application (CA PPM 14.2) that uses that instance of jasper does not support "dynamic ports".

Does anyone know where in the myriad of configuration files I can find where dynamic ports is set?
How do I set it to a specific port such as 1433?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There are 2 ways to resolve your problem:
1. Change Jasper to use the Dynamic port of SQL Server that is currently allocated by modifying it in the datasources in the below format by replacing 1433 with the assigned value.
  Ÿ  Driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
  Ÿ  Sample URL: jdbc:sqlserver://hostname:1433;databaseName=yourDatabase
2. Change SQL Server port used in SQL Server Configuration Manager to  use 1433 if no other instance of SQL Server is using it by following the below steps:
1. Open SQL Server Configuration Manager with Run as Administrator.
2. Click on SQL Server Network Configuration.
3. Click on Protocols for your instance.
4. Click on TCP/IP and Go to IP Addressed tab.
5. Go to the end of the page and in IP All, Clear the values in TCP Dynamic Ports and enter 1433 for TCP Port.
6. Click OK and then restart your SQL Server services.

I now see my question is ambiguous, so sorry. SQL Server is fine, it has already been set to a static port.

The problem is changing Jaspersoft to recognise and use the same port.

& if recommending changes in a file could you identify the path to the file?

My tech guys are going to re-install, I suspect this may make this question redundant. I will let you know.

Hi Paul,

Kindly let me know whether you have tried Option 1 and modified the port in Jasper Connection string..

is that connection string found under Jasper? Tomcat? Java?
Raja Jegan RSQL Server DBA & Architect, EE Solution GuideCommented:
Ok, then you might need to login to your JasperServer probably http://localhost:8080/jasperserver-pro.
Under Folders, you should be able to see the list of Data Sources that are currently created.
Try modifying the port mentioned in your data source connection string to the required value and try it once..
