SQL Server 2014 Express not responding

Hi Friends,

I have installed sql server 2014 express edition for running small application. Lately after a microsoft windows updates the sql server stopped responding properly and I even lost some data in the tables after installation. Not sure if updates is the reason for this. I tried to repair the sql server using the installation file with no luck. Management studio takes a long time to connect to server and execute any queries

Can any one help point me in the right direction where to look and what to look at as I am trying find out the reason for past couple of days and unable to find a solution to this

Thank you in advance

Presumably prior to the update, you were able to access tge SQL instance using SSMSE.
Presumably, it is running
netstat -an |find ":1433"

Which services are running server, browser?
Using SQL server config, which server protocols are enabled, shared, named pipes, ip?

Are you able to connect to that by SS management studio? You can re-install that to one other Instance.

Which update was that?

We’d all like to think our company’s data is well protected, but when you ask IT professionals they admit the data probably is not as safe as it could be.

Thank you for the replies

Yes was able to acces SQL instance using SSMSE. TCP ip protocol is enabled.

Now also I can connect using SS management studio however it is taking lot of time to connect to the server. Any further advise over this?

Check whether the issue is with resources on the system.
Advanced firewall settings.
TCP/ip port settings..fixed or dynamic?
