Outlook 2013 Slow Splash Screen

I just upgraded some workstations from Office 2010 to Office 2013. When the users are logging into Outlook it is very slow at the splash screen?.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Had a similar issue with my upgrades. Here is what fixed it for me.

Close all Office Apps
Run regedit
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common
Create a New Key and name it "Graphics"
Select Graphics, right-click on the right panel and create a New DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it DisableHardwareAcceleration.
Enter Value data as 1

I tried that already. I will try on another computer. Any other ideas?

Also, watch the Outlook startup. Much of the time is loading Add-ins (I see this in Outlook 2010 as well). You can disable any add-ins you do not need.

Agree with John, try to run Outlook in safe mode:
outlook.exe /safe

to see if it will speedup the startup.
