BYOD Meraki/Sonicwall
I need a solution where I can log into a web portal for school BYOD devices, and based on login credentials assign them to a VLAN that the SonicWALL can filter with different levels of web filtering.
I know of a way to do it by creating different SSID's and assigning them to VLAN's, but wanted to know if there was a web portal solution with one SSID.

you can also use a wireless controller. meraki has one I believe. You can create use passes and manage there. In many wireless deployments you can create multiple SSIDs for guests and internal. logging into a specific vlan would control access and provide a portal authorization page.
Meraki has radius support as well if you don't want to implement Microsoft. Check the docs for 802.1x setup
You should also be able to sync your sonicwall content filter with AD and use GPOs to apply certain filters to certain groups.
