background color for entire group

I want to set the background colors to alternate per group... currently i am doing it per row this way

= IIf(RowNumber(Nothing) Mod 2 = 0, "#f0f0f2", Nothing)

But, could i do this per group?

A group in SSRS doesn't have any layout properties apart from 'Hidden'. So you need to set this property for every textbox in the group. By holding the ctrl or shift button you can select multiple rows or text boxes. When you have the text boxes selected you can use the Property window (View, Properties Window; or F4) to set the Background Color for all the text boxes at once.

My issue it that i want the color to be dynamic and alternate..... the items for the first group would be one color the second group would be another etc.  From you answer i assume that is not possible
