Run Excel 2007 macros with Excel 2013

Hi

I am installing a new computer for a user who is scared of upgrading to Office 2013

His Excel 2007 macros (not VBA) function properly with his present (french) version of Excel 2010

Apparently he ran a few tests in the past and discovered the following issues:

- the date of origin is apparently different between version 2007/2010 and 2013 meaning that date calculations won't produce the same results

- the space character isn't interpreted in the same manner (ignored in some cases)

- in France the decimal and thousands separators are the inverse compared to the English system: our decimal separator is the comma, and the thousands is a period.
When a decimal comma is preceded by (to the right of) a single zero, the macro correctly interprets the number;
when, however, the number preceding the decimal comma is greater than zero, then the macro considers the comma as a thousands separator. He also stated that the regional settings had no bearing on this issue.

There are may be other issues, but these are the ones he detailed for me.

Any ideas ?
thanks
yann

Date calculations have not altered between versions, nor have spaces, or the way regional settings are used. I don't think your user, with all due respect, really knows what he is doing. Can you ask him for specific examples of what doesn't work?

thanks for the confirmation Rory
that was my sentiment, but not being a macro expert, I gave him the benefit of the doubt
