Request for Managed Service Providers

I am a consultant working for a small break/fix company. I want to add managed services to his services offered.

Please respond with recommendations of any companies that you like or that you don't.

Any websites that would offer me information about selecting one or running one would be great too!

Thanks in advance!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Managed services, remote management, such as those provided by LabTech and Kaseya. Although we are also looking to offer hosted services as well.

You could checkout N-Central which is now run by SolarWinds. We resell and package these services to our customers and provide a complete managed service. Currently we do not sell just the remote management and monitoring, but I am sure others do.

Flipp we are located in Mooresville, NC about 30 miles north of Charlotte, NC. We are a small break/fix company whose clients consist mostly of less than 5 computers in both the home and business sectors. We have a physical address where we do all our in house work, repairing PCs and Macs that we have either picked up from the client or have been dropped off by the client. We provide service contracts where we warranty the computer for X # of $ per month and if something goes wrong, the client is responsible for only the cost of parts and not the labor.

We want to start off slow and work with a company that understands that we cannot spend a lot on licensing and software, nor purchase any hardware to run it from. I understand that technology has come a long way and that now most RMM companies have their RMM consoles in the cloud. We need to have our hands held to start out. We need help pricing the services for our area, etc.

I have 20 years experience in various sectors of the IT Industry from working as the sole provider of IT Services to an accounting firm where I was responsible for bringing them in compliance for the Y2k bug, 60 laptops, 15 desktops, 5 servers. I was the sole provider of IT services to a home health care provider with 5 offices in 4 states and did the auditing for their HIPAA Compliancy. I have worked for a NOC, and a startup, and an MSP who used Kaseya and ConnectWise.

thanks in advance...
