# Crystal Reports Calendar Year to Fiscal Year

Hello, I have a simple report, (attached), that shows me all my customers and total shipments that we made to them by year for the last 5 years. My problem is that management wants to see the figures broke out yearly by the fiscal year which ends on June 30 every year. This report is by calendar year. How can I tell the report that the year is from 7-1 to 6-30 of the next calendar year.

Thank you

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Also, how would I have the data vertical instead of horizontal?
Commented:
Create a formula for Fiscal Year

Assuming FY2015 is from July 1 2015 to Jun 30 2016.

Name FiscalYear
``````If Month({DateFIeld}) <= 6 then
"FY" & CStr(Year({DateField}) - 1, 0, '')
Else
"FY" & CStr(Year({DateField}), 0, '')
``````

Assuming FY2016 is from July 1 2015 to Jun 30 2016.

Name FiscalYear
``````If Month({DateFIeld}) <= 6 then
"FY" & CStr(Year({DateField}), 0, '')
Else
"FY" & CStr(Year({DateField}) + 1, 0, '')
``````

The data looks vertical to me.

What do you want it to look like?

You can Insert a CrossTab with rows set to the customer and columns set to the FiscalYear formula suggested by mlmcc.

Is this more on the lines you want?

I added a crosstab.  I also changed the grouping to use the Fiscal Year

You could hide the group 2 header or eliminate it altogether

Awesome! Simply awesome. Can you eliminate the grand totals?
Commented:
Yes.

Right click the crosstab in the upper left square (it is blank)
Click CROSS TAB EXPERT
On the last tab there is a check box to suppress the totals

Is there a way to move the totals to the bottom for each year. I am more interested in totals for each year than by customer.
Commented:
Like this one in the report header

Very well done.

One last question. I can do ok with simple reports such as the one that I included with this question. However, I really struggle with formulas, cross-tabs, etc.. Would you be able to suggest the best source of training for Crystal? I would prefer online but would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you again.

Not really sure of the best source.  I am for the most part self-taught.
