Webpage made from template looking different on IE compared to Firefox/Chrome

Hi Experts, I made a landing page from a template I obtained online. You can see my page here:

http://extrak.net/landingpage.html

It looks great on Firefox and Chrome but has some visual differences, particularly the subscription form,  when viewed in Internet Explorer... at least on my older version of IE 8/Win XP (maybe it would be perfect in later versions of IE ?). Would anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
    Shawn

P.S: My exact version of IE is 8.0.6001.18702. I viewed this on two computers - both running XP and the same version of IE... looks the same on both.

IE8 does not do the rounded corners so that part will never be the same.  I'm sure there are several other things that it won't do.  And although the 'shim' adds some basic support for HTML5 keywords, IE8 doesn't support HTML5.

Thanks Dave... is IE8 sufficiently old and decrepit that not many people use it anymore? If so, I can live with that.

Also, what is the "shim"?

Thanks

This line:
<!--[if lt IE 9]><script src="http://html5shiv.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script><![endif]-->

Open in new window

According to this page http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_explorer.asp , IE8 usage has fallen below 1%.

For testing you can use opera with agent switcher.

As it happens, I just installed IE11 on a Win 7 computer and your page looks essentially the same on IE11 as on Firefox.  It has the rounded corners and colors.
