problem with email address in exch 2007

Hi Experts,

I have a problem with a second email address.
on the HUB TRANSPORT machine I see many emails which cannot be sent to the email firstname.surname2@email.de
On the exchange I cannot find this email to delete it.
Do you know an easy way to find out where this email is located ?

What error are you getting in the bounce back? If the message is not going through what makes you think it's attached to an account?

does firstname.surname2@email.de an external email? you found them in the queue of hub transport? so where you also want to find it? what did you mean by "on the exchange I cannot find this email"?

I have an email like this fn.sn@email.de
There is also a second email with my name : fn.sn2@email.de
But this second email has no mailbox and therefore the emails cannot be sent.

Where do these emails come from in the first place? Who is sending the fn.sn2@email.de emails?

Are you sure you're not on a wild goose hunt?

If I sent an email to fn.sn3@email.de and fn.sn4@email.de and fn.sn5@email.de, I hope you're not gonna try to find these emails in your Exchange server?

What you might want to do is use the Get-User cmdlet, which will search all of the Recipient Types i.e. mailbox, contacts etc. If the email actually exists in your domain you will be able to find the account with it. Use the following cmdlet below...

Get-User -Identity firstname.surname2@email.de | fl

This will find the user that has this email address as a secondary or primary.
