Active sync devices showing unread emails after they have been read or deleted from outlook...

As above.  I'm getting notification from some users.  Is there anything I can check to see what the problem maybe?

It's generally tying in with a user who has three machines and an active sync device.  My hunch is that the emails are being read on the iPad over AS but the laptop and remote machine isn't syncing the messages read, stay unread on the main desktop pc.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What version of Exchange do you have?

Thanks.  Please check using OWA to compare OWA to the various devices / Outlook and determine which of the devices or Outlook reflects OWA 100%.

Then on the device(s) or Outlook that doesn't match, remove the account / delete the profile and setup the account / profile again.

OWA is the 'Master' information, so anything that doesn't match what OWA is showing isn't syncing properly and needs to be rectified.

We think it was due to our 3rd party application enabling itself during the backup window of exchange which resulted in copies of emails along with the unread emails...
