Mail being forwarded, can't find inbox rule

The tracking log in exchange says  MAILBOXRULE so this persons email is being forwarded to someone else but I can't find the rule for it. When I check get-inboxrule there is nothing for this user. I even logged into their PC and checked their rules from outlook but nothing there either.. its blank.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Forwarding is probably setup on the mailbox itself. Open the properties of the mailbox and look at the Mail Flow Settings Tab --> Delivery Options --> Forwarding Address

Or their might be a transport rule as well.

Check the users Inbox Rules as a last resort.

Will.

I have checked all these places. There is no forwarding setup, no transport rules, no inbox rules from outlook client, and

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-InboxRule -Mailbox $user
[PS] C:\Windows\system32>

Nothing there either.

Hi: please use MFCMapi and check if any hidden or corrupted rule is there? I have faced this issue once. Please follow this article.

Also check forwarding address by powershell once by below command:

Get-Mailbox -id username | fl "*Address*"

Will check with MFCMapi
Amit KumarCommented:
Sure, please check with MFCMapi, it is possible when you are checking with MFCMapi so you may not be able to find Messageclass title of IPM.RuleMessage in top panel. In this case there will be bottom panel where you can see all details. One attribute will be there with the name of Message_Class it will show you the exact name.
stlhostAuthor Commented:
That is what it was. Rule wasn't visible from exchange powershell but I could see it with MFCMapi
Amit KumarCommented:
Yes! it was a corrupted rule, thanks for accepting this solution.
