asked on

how can I minimize VLC Media Player 2.2.1?

Hello and Good Evening Everyone

I am interested in knowing how to minimize VLC Media Player.  There are moments I would like to pause the playback of a movie and minimize the screen so I can open something else which can easily be done within Windows Media Player.  However, I have yet to figure this out with VLC Media Player.

Any shared tips for achieving this goal will be greatly appreciated.

             Thank you

Hello

Thank you for your easy to understand steps and illustration.  Unfortunately, I was not able to get the movie to minimize.  I will check out the newer version of VLC Media Player.  Perhaps I will have better results with it whenever I need to pause and minimize the picture.

Hello

If you would, could you submit the direct download URL address for the latest version of VLC Media Player?  The embedded link above seems to direct me to a different site which does not provide the option of downloading the latest version of VLC Media Player.

          Thanks

Oops - my mistake - I read my version as 2.2.5 but it's actually 2.1.5 so you're ahead of me :) (Rincewind -> Weatherwax!)

I've installed 2.2.1 and it behaves as I described. i.e. when I minimise VLC playback stops and when I restore the window it starts again with that box checked.

Hello and Good Evening

Thank you for your suggestions and the easy to understand illustration.  Unfortunately, I was not ever able to get the playback of my movie to minimize within VLC Media Player when paused.  Now, the movie being played back was on the hard disk drive and not on DVD.  I am not sure if that makes any difference or not.    Your proposed solution was still a good one and should have worked.

Have a good night and thanks again.
