I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you need to buy a subscription from one of the cdn companies
for example maxcdn

then you need to update your images url/path to read from the cdn account

Tks. how do I implement SSL support ? Do I also need to put the certificate on the CDN ? Will there be any performance impact on my current website as it run as http right now ?

In case I enable SSL suport, will the content be cached on the CDN ? I'm looking at Akamai for my solution...

Implementing CDN will increase the speed of your website

im not sure about caching but at least images will be cached. you can check with the company .

SSL will secure all the transactions and encrypt them
